Bethal Town Dam – imagined fireflies

I needed a photograph of the Bethal town dam for my previous post about poetry translations. I found this page by a bunch cyclists doing the usual around-Africa-on-bikes adventure. It includes a nice picture of sunset over the dam in the town where I spent my teenage years.

We [...] arrived in a small town called Bethal as sun was setting, [...] and were directed to the municipal campsite just outside of town on the edge of a lovely lake.  [T]he place seemed deserted and was surrounded by a high barbed wire fence and electric gate. [...] Way off in the distance a group of men kicking around a soccer ball.  [...] They ignored us at first, but [...] eventually one of them [...] let us in.

I colour-adjusted the photograph to turn it into a quasi-night time image and posted it.  Somehow the image stuck with me and I wanted more from it. So here it is, an imagined memory.

Do you have any idea why your blog site got the recommendation from Christian Dillstrom? Mobile and social media marketing specialists do not recommend something without a reason.
