About thecages

Your judicious study of discernible reality … is not the way the world really works anymore. We’re an empire now.
And when we act, we create our own reality.Anonymous aide to President Bush, 2002

To paraphrase Thomas Pynchon and Colonel Kurtz, the business of this world is trade and death and we must immerse ourselves in its horrors in the hopes of a not-at-all assured moment of purity.

About Anarchism

Anarchism is a contested idea. Mutualist, Collectivist, Individualist and other groups all offer their own interpretations of anarchism and set differing ‘non-negotiable’ requirements for an anarchist society.

In its simplest form anarchism opposes institutionalised authority, whether civil or moral, and promotes – at all cost – the freedom of each individual to make their own decisions and choices.

About theauthor

I am not an anarchist, but anarchism seems to me at present to be the most advanced social theory we have. It cannot save us from our accelerating death, nor can anything else. But just maybe the fact that the idea exists is enough.
